Traumatic Brain Injury & Sleep Disturbances

From a young age she has always been fascinated with the human mind and the impact an event can have on an individual. After pursuing her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, she soon realized that her passion lay in helping people understand and heal from trauma. She was raised in a military family and married into the military. She was able to see how much impact trauma had not only on the individual, but the family and other areas of the person’s life. She began to conduct research for her dissertation on the impact trauma has on the military family, which was later published, and pursuing higher level trainings to help heal the trauma. Jenna has been working in the mental health field for over 15 years.

She has a diverse range of experience working with military members, from working with the spouses and children on transitions and military stressors; to traveling overseas to help build programs that are tailored to treating all aspects of an individual suffering from a trauma. Currently, she is working with veterans in a private military program. She began providing therapy for Special Forces veterans, active service members, and became certified in EMDR
therapy to effectively help process their trauma. She helps facilitate healing and growth throughout the veteran’s family system, by conducting family sessions with the spouse and children.
