That’s About White: Integrating Anti-racism within Mental Health Treatment

For decades, people of color with mental health disorders have been more marginalized than their white counterparts, living in the shadows, reticent to seek help and less likely to receive specialized treatment or prescribed medications. Disproportionately sent to jail or prison for addiction-related crimes 7 times more than their white counterparts, minorities are reticent to enter treatment due to fear of punitive responses and moral judgements.
