Rachel Porter, PsyD, is an eating disorders professional living and working in Durham, NC. Dr. Porter has worked in the eating disorders field for 14 years, all at higher levels of care. Dr. Porter is currently the primary therapist at Carolina House’s gender inclusive residence as well as the Clinical Care Advocate for Carolina House. Dr. Porter is an anti-stigma advocate, a Health at Every Size provider, and committed to using her many privileges to support and provide compassionate and inclusive care. In her personal time, Dr. Porter enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, reading, and trying to see Hamilton: An American Musical as many times as humanly possible.

Rebekah Bardwell Doweyko, LPC, CEDS-S, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. In her current role as Assistant Vice President of Clinical Operations, Bekah is responsible for program development and clinical, administrative, and fiscal oversight of ambulatory clinics in Amherst, MA, Worcester, MA, South Windsor, CT, and Guilford, CT. Prior to joining us here at Walden, she was an Intensive Care Manager at the Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership. She also founded and directed the Intuitive Eating Program at Hollywood Pavilion Hospital in Hollywood, FL, and held various clinical positions at The Renfrew Center in Coconut Creek, FL.

Kim Anderson, PHD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who has focused her career on treatment for individuals with eating disorders. She has published scientific articles and chapters on eating disorders, trauma and associated problems. She developed and directed the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Program at the Center for Eating Disorders, which has been adapted to inpatient, outpatient and intensive outpatient settings, before joining Eating Recovery Center in 2019. Dr. Anderson also directs the training of the postdoctoral fellows at Eating Recovery Center, Maryland. She provides individual and group psychotherapy, supervision to developing psychologists, supervision of clinical research, and lectures on the prevention and treatment of eating disorders.

Regional Director of Operations, Center for Discovery
Marissa Jones, LPC, LMHC, CEDS-S, graduated from The University of Oklahoma majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology/criminology. Marissa continued on to pursue two graduate degrees at Oklahoma State University, in Counseling and Health Care Administration. Marissa has worked in the acute, residential, and outpatient setting for eating disorder treatment since 2012 and is now a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. Marissa joined the Discovery team in 2017 as the Program Director of the Orlando residential program, and quickly advanced to the Regional Director of Operations. Marissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in VA, GA, and FL, overseeing the residential and outpatient locations in the MidAtlantic and Southeast regions.

Amber Parris, LICSW, CEDS, is the Senior Director of Clinical Services at Alsana. Previously, Amber worked as a primary therapist at a residential treatment center before joining Alsana in 2013 to start up the Birmingham PHP/IOP Program. In her current role, she provides oversight to therapists, participates in programmatic structure/development, and leads multidisciplinary team meetings. Amber received specific training in treating persons with eating disorders with modalities including EMDR, DBT, and Prolonged Exposure. She has a special interest in exploring the intersection between eating disorders and intimacy/sexuality, and helped develop a curriculum that addresses body image issues for people with severe eating disorders.

Chief Clinical Officer, Alsana
Leading Alsana’s clinical quality activities, clinical data systems and clinical training, Dr. Nicole Siegfried is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified eating disorder specialist. She enjoys working with the Alsana team as they are a group of people who are real, committed, and believe in the important work of helping people recover from eating disorders. She believes that those who want to go to treatment where you are truly seen and not just as a number, but rather a person who is struggling, then Alsana is the right place. Nicole also highly values the clinicians as they are trained in a variety of modalities, because they realize treatment is not one size fits all. Nicole is a recognized leader in the field of eating disorders and serves as the Chief Clinical Officer at Alsana. She is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Alabama at Birmingham and has also served as Associate Professor of Psychology at Samford University. Nicole is an international presenter in the field of eating disorders and suicide, and a member of AED and former co-chair of the Suicide AED Special Interest Group. Nicole has almost 20 years of experience working with patients with eating disorders and helping to transform their lives.
