Dr. Anna B. Tanner is Vice President of Medical Services for Veritas Collaborative. She is a board-certified Pediatrician who has specialized in the care of complicated adolescent patients, in particular patients with eating disorders, for over 20 years. Dr. Tanner completed medical school and residency at Vanderbilt University, and then remained there to serve on the Pediatrics faculty in the Division of Young Adult and Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Tanner has been very involved in advocacy and education efforts and serves on national and international committees for eating disorders education. She speaks frequently across the United States on the Medical Complications of Eating Disorders, especially as they affect children and young adolescents. Dr. Tanner currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for Emory University School of Medicine and as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science for Morehouse School of Medicine. She is co-chair of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) Medical Care Standards Committee and a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) Certification Committee Task Force. Dr. Tanner is a Fellow in the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM), a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and a Certified Eating Disorders Supervisor. She has been named by Atlanta magazine as a “Top Doctor” every year from 2013 to 2021 and named by Castle Connelly as an Exceptional Woman in Medicine and one of America’s Most Honored Doctors.

Dr. Crawford received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and a certificate in Contemplative Psychotherapy from the Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Studies. She completed an advanced training fellowship in Integrative Psychiatry with Dr. James Greenblatt MD, as part of Psychiatry Redefined. As an integrative practitioner, she is passionate about mind-body medicine, and is certified in heart rate variability biofeedback as well as mindfulness meditation. She sits on the board of the Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians (PsychANP) and is co-founder of Water and Wood, an experiential integrative medicine company offering custom retreats and workshops for groups.

Dr. Steven Crawford is Managing Director, Medical at Eating Recovery Center and Assistant Chief of Psychiatry at University of Maryland-St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Crawford attended University of Maryland School of Medicine and trained in Psychiatry at University of Maryland Department of Psychiatry. He received fellowship training in eating disorders at the Center for Eating Disorders and has worked continuously in the field for over twenty-five years, including as Co-Director of the Center for Eating Disorders. Dr. Crawford is a Past-President of the Maryland Psychiatric Society and chairs the Scientific Council of Med-Chi, the Maryland State Medical Society. He serves on the Multi-disciplinary Peer Review Committee at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center and heads Schwartz Center Rounds to bring doctors, nurses and other caregivers together to discuss the human side of healthcare. Dr. Crawford is consistently listed as Top Doctor in local and national professional surveys.

Dr. Cass graduated Summa Cum Laude from Skidmore College and completed her master’s and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Missouri. Specializing in eating disorders while in graduate school, Dr. Cass conducted original research on the impact of pro-anorexia websites and presented findings at national and international eating disorder conferences. Dr. Cass completed her predoctoral psychology internship at the University of Colorado at Boulder, continuing her training and specialization in eating disorders. Dr. Cass has provided evidence-based eating disorder treatment at college campuses, community clinics, and in private practice. While living in New Mexico, Dr. Cass developed the behavioral health component of a bariatric surgery program, seeing the program through accreditation. Dr. Cass has conducted over 400 pre surgical psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery and developed CE programs discussing assessment for eating disorders in a bariatric setting. Since moving to Colorado, Dr. Cass has worked as a psychologist at ACUTE, with accreditation as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through iaedp. On the unit, Dr. Cass provides psychodiagnostic assessment, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to individuals with severe eating disorders while working with a multidisciplinary team. Dr. Cass has published about the interface of behavioral health treatment for anorexia and the law, as well as the etiopathogenesis and treatment of individuals with anorexia. Dr. Cass served as a panelist during the ACUTE 2020 Virtual Conference, discussing effective treatment approaches for severely medically compromised patients. An instructor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Dr. Cass continues to be active in research and publishing, as well as quality improvement at ACUTE.

National Medical Director, Monte Nido & Affiliates
Molly McShane Perlman, MD, MPH, CEDS, FAPA is National Medical Director of Monte Nido and Affiliates (MNA), overseeing eating disorder treatment at all MNA facilities in 12 states. She is double-board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. While in Psychiatry residency, Dr. Perlman served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Laughlin Fellowship, which is bestowed annually on 12 elite residents for outstanding leadership and significant achievements.

Dr. Perlman serves as Assistant Professor at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, Vice President of the Eating Disorders Coalition, member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) Credentialing Committee, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Coalition Representing Eating Disorder Care (REDC), and co-chair of the REDC Standards Committee. Additionally, she oversees MNA’s IRB-approved research study on clinical outcomes as Co-Principal Investigator and has co-authored several papers in top research journals on PTSD in eating disorders.
