Inside-Out & Bottom-Up...Play Therapy & EMDR...The Polyvagal Way!

Come along in this 4-hour workshop & discover how to integrate EMDR with Play Therapy and Polyvagal Theory while incorporating diversity within the work that we do!

By integrating foundational EMDR knowledge with cutting-edge neuroscience, the concepts of Neuroception, Proprioception, Equilibrioception, Interoception, Temperoception, Exteroception, & Nociception (the CeptionsTM) will be introduced through the Power of Play Therapy.

Practical play therapy applications infused with a Polyvagal twist will be explored as we create representations of the Ceptions, demonstrating inclusion comp

Participants will discover and practice how to use them to teach clients how to identify if they are in hyperarousal, hypoarousal, or optimal arousal states. The Ceptions can be used as “clue finders” for “body detectives” in order to teach clients how to become detectives of their own nervous systems, and participants will explore how to increase client’s mind-body awareness & monitor/reduce the distress response (SUDS) through the integrative use of EMDR, play therapy, & the expressive arts. • Describe & apply the 8 phases of the standard EMDR therapy 3-pronged protocol as integrated with Polyvagal Theory & Play Therapy when working with child & adolescent clients
