Expressive Arts with Fandom Characters
We will establish a list with descriptions of how fandom characters can represent our personalities, traumas, choices, relationships, and/or inner dialogues. Participants will leave the session with a creative representation of their own internal struggles, inspiration to utilize new coping skills, as well as the ability to use fictional characters as a therapeutic intervention. Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to identify a list of characters and articulate the specific qualities of these characters that resonate within themselves.
- Participants will explore and create a visual representation of how these different characters can/may interact with each other.
- Participants will be able to identify how these and other fictional characters can be used to elicit a personal and therapeutic response.
- Participants will be able to explore how this intervention can be utilized when talking about “parts of self” and Internal Family Systems.
