Director of the Eating Disorder Program and Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Mishell Hashmi is the Director of the Eating Disorder program and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Midwestern University in 2007. She has extensive experience working with eating disorders in Residential, PHP, IOP and outpatient settings. Dr. Hashmi uses an integrated approach and is experienced in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Hashmi has also completed training in Family Based Therapy (FBT) for eating disorders, Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Hashmi enjoys working with teenagers and adults. She also has extensive experience working with individuals with self-injury, trauma, mood disorders and transgender issues. She is a member of the board for the Missouri Eating Disorder Association (MOEDA).

Program Director, The New Orleans Institute for Trauma and Compulsive Behaviors, River Oaks Hospital
Jamie Jones, M.Ed, NCC, LPC-S is the Program Director for The New Orleans Institute for Trauma and Compulsive Behaviors at River Oaks Hospital. She received her master’s degree from the University of New Orleans and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. Mrs. Jones has been a member of the treatment team at River Oaks Hospital since 2001. She specializes in both inpatient and outpatient treatment of individuals presenting the eating disorders, trauma-based disorders, and compulsive behaviors.

Mrs. Jones has a long history of presenting presentations nationwide on the topics of trauma, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders rooted in trauma. She has also worked with military bases around the country, assisting them with providing treatment of active-duty service members and veterans.

Melissa Taylor received her master’s degree from the University of Kentucky in marriage and family therapy, discovering early in her career that she had a passion for eating disorder recovery work. As the Director of Clinical Services, Melissa coordinates with each of the clinical directors to ensure the care and treatment provided at CFC is effectively managed on each unit. Melissa also coordinates care at the Boise and Cottonwood Heights offices with their respective directors on site. Melissa has her own caseload and enjoys meeting with families and individuals in therapy as well as speaking around the country and locally, educating therapists and the community on the prevention and treatment of eating disorders. An avid reader, she loves the outdoors and traveling. Melissa Taylor, LMFT, CEDS-S is the Clinical Services Director at Center for Change eating disorder program, and speaks nationally on eating disorder prevention and recovery.

Norman Kim, PhD
Norman Kim, PhD
Norman is the inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for the Center for Practice Innovation at Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and the NY State Office of Mental Health, and the co-founder of the Institute for Antiracism and Equity, a social justice focused consultancy. He completed his B.A. at Yale and his Ph.D. in Psychology at UCLA. His research and clinical interests include the social development of people with autism, the developmental course of bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. In conjunction Norman has developed an expertise in psychiatrically complex populations, and his primary areas of interest are the application of a transdiagnostic framework for eating disorders, taking an evolutionary approach to shame and anxiety, and minority mental health. He is a regular national and international speaker, educator, and passionate advocate with a particular focus on minority status and barriers to mental health care in marginalized communities. He was the founding co-chair of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Committee of IAEDP, on the inaugural Behavioral Health Taskforce for the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, former board member of the Eating Disorders Coalition, and serves on numerous advisory boards. Most recently Norman was the Deputy Director of Ayana Therapy, a tech startup focused on providing culturally intelligent, adapted, and accessible care to marginalized communities, and was the co-founder of Reasons Eating Disorder Center.
