Clinical work with Kinky Clients

Through this course, participants will learn about how to effectively work with clients who engage in BDSM or kink. Participants will discover ways to expand the exploration clients are already doing around power exchange, sexuality, and communication in their kinky lives in their therapy work. Attendees will also gain basic familiarity with BDSM and kink in order to meet clients where they’re at. Attendees of this course will earn 2 Ethics CEU's

Meg is offering times for 1 HOUR VIRTUAL CONSULTATION GROUPS the week of August 23rd to help deepen understanding of the concepts discussed, all...Read moreow for practical application of concepts to specific case examples, and address attendee’s specific clinical questions. Consultation groups will be limited to 5 participants to ensure each attendee receives time and space to address their specific clinical concerns. Meg's clinical experience includes individual, couples, and group counseling with a focus on queer and trans identified individuals. Her clinical interests include gender, sexuality - including folks who engage in BDSM or kink, and non-monogamous, polyamorous, or open relationships. Meg has a foundation in relational theory and her work with clients often explores how relationships of all kinds inform, entangle and enhance their lives. This focus on relationships includes the relationship between client and therapist.

Clinician, Owner Rivers and Roads Psychotherapy LLC
Heather Sexton (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Rivers and Roads Psychotherapy, LLC located in Ohio. Heather specializes in sex and relationship therapy. Her clinical education includes extensive training in Imago Therapy, at Modern Sex Therapy Insitute, and at the Integrated Sex Therapy Institute. Heather has training in Sensate focus and she has a special interest in working in the LGBTQIA++ community. Heather is also a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR).
