Teen social media use is an increasingly important topic for families, clinicians, and policymakers. First, this workshop will review research on social media use and teen mental health, with a focus on cyberbullying, sleep and suicide risk. Second, we will discuss current guidelines for engaging in healthy social media use for teens and their families. Finally, we will engage in interactive discussions and role plays for participants to learn and apply skills to discussing social media use with teens and families.
