CICAMH 2022: Critical Issues in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference

The 7th Annual CICAMH will focus on complicated and challenging aspects of mental health issues involving children and adolescents in the era of COVID–19 pandemic.  Special emphasis on resilience and management of special needs children with focus on social, economic and racial disparities experienced during the COVID-19 Pandemic and daily lives. 


The intent of the CICAMH conference is to increase the awareness and understanding of these critical issues and offer the attendees ideas and resources to be able to assist youth, their families, and communities in re-engaging and supporting each other to promote a bright and fruitful future.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

Comprehend the importance and effect of a multidisciplinary collaborative approach in the treatment of children and adolescents with mental health issues.

Explore the clinical aspects of DBT across settings in the management of children.

Discuss how Human trafficking and the vulnerability of LGBTQ community effects social fabric. 

Describe learning disorders, ADHD and Developmental disorders impact mental health with focus on identifying the key factors that would help with early recognition and accurate diagnosis using DSM-V. Understand sleep disorders in children with focus on the normal sleep patterns and the various disorders of sleep that may impact children and youth and know the preferred treatment interventions to address these problems.

Recognize the cultural issues and symptoms of commonly diagnosed mental health disorders in children and adolescents.

Target Audience

This unique hybrid event is designed to touch a wide audience to help integrate up to date clinical information and quality care in daily clinical practice. The format includes plenary sessions and also targeted breakout sessions with clinical tracks and focus groups.  Hands-on training with therapeutic techniques and interventions are strategically incorporated.

Covid Protocol

This Hybrid event will have a physical “In-Person” platform with a limited amount of tickets for live face to face presentation at the Double Tree Hilton Mission Valley incorporating all the County and Federal mandates for safety and COVID-19 precautions. We will continue to offer a virtual platform so attendees can also participate from the comfort of their home or office.
