Lauren McLaren
Lauren McLaren
Originally from Canada, Lauren holds a B. Ed in secondary education and taught for several years before moving to the Caribbean and then later to Savannah, Georgia, and finally to San Diego. She began her yoga training in the Caribbean and studied with teachers there, in Canada and in the US. A teacher at heart, she returned to her calling and began teaching yoga in 2009 after completing her first teacher training with the Aura Wellness Center in Rhode Island. Always seeking to expand her knowledge and training, she completed a second 200-hour program with Deva Parnell at the Discovery Yoga Center in St. Augustine, Florida. After teaching for about ten years, she felt called to do more training and had the opportunity to work with teachers like Richard Miller and Leslie Kaminoff while completing her Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at the Soul of Yoga. Her teaching style is grounded in honoring the body and its innate wisdom. She brings dedication, compassion, and a sense of lightheartedness to classes, but what drives and inspires her most is a profound belief in the transformative power of the practice both on and off the mat.

Lauren currently leads the 200-hour Teacher Training program at Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga in San Diego. She specializes in breathwork, and she has led several weekend trainings in the practice and teaching of pranayama. She has also authored a practice manual to assist people in tapping into the power of their breath as a tool for discovering and maintaining a profound sense of well-being.

Katherine MacLean, PhD
Katherine MacLean, PhD
Founder, Psychedelic Survivors
Katherine MacLean, PhD is a research scientist with expertise in studying the effects of mindfulness meditation and psychedelics on cognitive performance, emotional well-being, spirituality, and brain function. As a postdoctoral research fellow and faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, she conducted clinical trials of psilocybin, the primary chemical found in “magic mushrooms,” and other psychedelic compounds. She co-founded the Psychedelic Education and Continuing Care program in New York in 2015, as well as the Psychedelic Survivors project in 2021. She is the author of the forthcoming memoir, Midnight Water, which explores how psychedelics inform and illuminate the complicated terrains of childhood trauma, death, birth, and grief. She is a passionate advocate for personal freedom and home-based healing, from birth through death.

Kristin Nash, MPH
Kristin Nash, MPH
Executive Director, William G Nash Foundation
Kristin started the William G. Nash Foundation, a 501(c)(3), to honor her son’s life and legacy, including work on harm reduction and psychedelic safety. Will was a bright and creative college senior just two months from graduating with a degree in economics. After taking psychedelics with close friends in his dormitory, Will had a severe adverse reaction that led to a state of psychosis. Our beautiful son, relying on the belief that psychedelics are “safe enough,” mistook one innocuous, ordinary object for another and suddenly, instantly, was gone.

Previously, Kristin worked in global public health, developing programs to support the sexual and reproductive health of adolescent girls and young women, including overseeing a USAID grant to combat gender inequity, HIV transmission and early pregnancy among orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi. Kristin’s research has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Reproductive Health (Jan. 2019) and presented at the International AIDS Society and Global Health and Innovation conferences. She holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington and a BA in journalism and international relations from the University of Southern California.
