ACT 101: An Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Jacqui Hoke, MA, LPC (she/her/hers) received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the Counselor Education program at The Ohio State University and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a focus in Theatre from a small liberal arts college in Michigan. Jacqui’s early career in theatre sprouted a love for engaging with the complex and beautiful stories of humanity--a love she brings to her work as a counselor. Jacqui is passionate about helping people become more grounded and accepting of themselves as they grapple with the concerns that can unsettle us as humans--feelings of anxiety and depression; career and identity development; making meaning of experiences; and navigating the balance between chaos and control, freedom and responsibility, connectedness and differentiation, action and paralysis. Jacqui uses an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approach that values and attends to the unique needs of each individual, helping them build a meaningful and vital life one day at a time.
