14th Annual Pat Risser RSVP Conference
The 14th Annual Pat Risser RSVP Conference brings together a distinguished group of presenters, discussing critical and cutting-edge topics that impact behavioral health. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Joanna Moncrieff will be presenting on her drug-centered model, encouraging attendees to consider the research and think critically about the use of psychiatric drugs. Mr. Rob Wipond will join us to talk about the new suicide prevention hotline 9-8-8, emphasizing essential considerations related to coercive psychiatric detention, the application of diagnostic categories and mental health laws, and the use of tranquilizing drugs for "helping" people and social control purposes. This year's presenters emphasize the importance of thinking critically about behavioral health treatment and services and the critical nature of involving patient voice and choice at all levels of treatment and intervention.
The RSVP Conference is provided in collaboration between The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Ashland County and Disability Rights Ohio.
